Tegenlicht (Backlight) is a brilliant one-hour documentary series from the Dutch public broadcaster VPRO. It's our version of BBC's Horizon, combining investigative journalism and visual storytelling with topics about technologies and the future.

While I knew they recently sold their episodes to a US broadcaster, only today I found out that 40 of their full episodes are available in English on their Youtube channel. I quite liked the above one about Wall Street coders, which covers the same topic as Michael Lewis' Flash Boys.

Here's the full playlist. Some good ones are Zero Days about the gold rush around security exploits, Changemakers, about Thomas Pikketty and Naomi Klein's success, and Digital Food about new food technologies.
