So recently I've been totally enamored with the sweet and spicy combo that is found in many East Asian cuisines. Some quick and common examples: Pad thai and Gochujang. I love this style of food, but I'm looking to expand my knowledge of flavors and dishes - does anyone have any recommendations for a similar sweet/spicy combo from other (non East-Asian) countries/cuisines?

Check out Eve Aronoff's cook book. She's a friend of mine that owns a restaurant in Ann Arbor, MI. Great use of Moroccan spices, illu45, you would dig it too.
