As someone who is not from Texas, visiting the Alamo was an incredible experience. I never really knew the story but the presentation of all the information on site was very interesting. I was very intrigued at all the people who were defenders of the Alamo who weren't actually from Texas. I thought it was very cool how the flags representing where all the defenders were from were displayed inside the Alamo itself. It was quite the education to see the history behind it all, especially given that up to that point the extent of my knowledge was "Remember the Alamo" and pretty much nothing else.
