Checking into a hospital can boost your chances of infection. That's a disturbing paradox of modern medical care. But placing copper in the areas of highest infection chance could drastically reduce the chances of catching something potentially deadly.

Awesome but $60 to $100 per bed per month is NOT cheap. Hospitals can have hundreds of beds and copper is one of the more expensive metals. Perhaps the design could be altered to minimize the amount of copper necessary to cover the railing.
