I got no flak from anyone about wearing just black, and not a suit for orchestra, which was great.

But the more I think about it, the more i'm angry and frustrated that I even felt I had to be worried about it, and about what people think of me. Fuck everyone who has a problem with who I am and How I want to live my life.

I may not be my best self right now, but I am definitely closer to my true self. I'm fucking sick of hiding in the dark like a damn leper.

You're doing an incredibly difficult thing. It takes a lot of courage. It'll be a lot easier to do 20 years from now, but it was a lot harder 20 years ago.

That's the thing about change: it requires people brave enough to make it happen. You are where you are because people before you were willing to fight for their happiness in a much more hostile environment. By doing what you're doing, you're making it easier for everyone who comes after you.

Hang in there. BE angry. But also remember that most people are just going through life looking for way to safely stereotype everyone around them and when they see a guy turn into a girl they have to go "hey, wait a minute" for the simple reason that they've never actually thought about you that much before and now they have to.

There are assholes in the world. Dollars to donuts you'll run into more of them than the rest of us just for being who you are. But lots of people have never seen a unicorn before and they're gonna stare. Just remember - it's nothing personal, they just don't know any better.

They will for the next person. Circle of life.
