I have a couple of those plastic childrens wading pools and this year I had been reading up on container gardens, so I decided to drill some holes in the bottom and try it. I used miracle grow but am now hearing making your own works better in container gardens. It's been a few weeks and I've got some nice growth on my pumpkin/watermelon pool (I'll be using trellis to grow them up instead of letting them spread.) and my beans and peas have sprouted recently as well in the other. I'm also growing tomatoes in large flower pots. I was just wondering if anyone had some tip and ideas on how to get the most out of swimming pool gardens.

I'm not a gardener myself, so I don't have much to offer except to say that I'd definitely be interested in seeing photos of what you've created. What's the advantage to a container garden as opposed to using your yard? Is it for people with no yard space? Thanks and best of luck with your gardens.
