God I love just about everything James Bridle does.

I feel like a lot of "internet" or "digital" art is caught up in the self-branding, self-commidfying bent, but mostly because of the aesthetics of it and is humbly self-aware and non-self-aware. The New Aesthetic thing really struck a chord with me that resonated on a much more significant level. but maybe that's just my bias thinking some an "outsider-looking-in" perspective would be able to glean something more meaningful or whatever.
