I didn't always agree with him (he was an asshole to be sure), but I always found him interesting. god is not Great is an amazing read, for anyone who is interested in the history of religion since the middle ages.
thenewgreen: No! I am a fan. Never thought of him an asshole but rather as someone that wouldn't pull a punch to spare an idiots feelings. This is a big loss IMO. He was an extremely prolific and lucid writer.
