Saw this on Reddit and wanted to share it here too. Kind of a fascinating peek at a variety of author's thoughts on symbolism in writing.

b_b: The library in Troy, MI had a librarian that did a similar project back in the early 70s. She sent a letter to as many famous people (and some no so famous people) as she could and asked them to tell what was important to them about reading and libraries. Some notable responders include Pat Nixon, Dr. Seuss, Ronald Reagan and Neil Armstrong, but there are a lot more.
