Dang. I joined only a few days apart so it must've been from that. Hubski wasn't the perfect fit for me so I've been an ultra-lurker here, and instead went back to reddit. It was weird seeing OP's farewell post cause I recognized that name. I've been trying out Tildes but it also seems to still not stick as much as I'd like. Either way, it's weird seeing something like this sparked by something 6 years ago.
I'm just the kind of guy who is interested in what you guys have to say, but have no real idea what to post or reply. I'm part of the 90% http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1%25_rule_%28Internet_culture%2...
I'm mostly on the fence about it, but I'd prefer choosing paired over random.
I'd be interested as well!
Don't add to my comment wheel, but I have been looking for something similar to this for a year. The only thing that fit was this: www.mulliner.org/collin/chaosmsg.php . Unfortunately, it was abandoned. ALSO: What about overflow? I'm not sure that phones can send 500 messages in a short passing.

It seems that hubski is made for only two tags: your own tag and a community voted tag. It seems unlikely that this will change soon.
Good luck!
I wondered how sharing exactly works on Hubski, but the FAQ does not cut it. Better a full on wiki than a simple wiki page.
As you may have known, I jumped on board from your /r/theoryofreddit "Brain Drain" thread. Add me to the list of refugees!
Perhaps one could try to use a mentor program to ensure the new ones are not attention seekers. Another way is to create randomly chosen 20 account "neighborhoods" where people screen and advise each-other.
As long as people follow quality posting/sharing people, we should not have to worry about it.
2013: Get my first QSO I'm a fairly lazy guy, so even getting a license is a feat. I'm currently studying for an exam in mid February. There isn't any earlier ones in a 75 mile range. Hope that others reach theirs!

I've just joined Hubski less than an hour ago, and realized that /that/ is how Hubski handles things. It's not a Twitter clone, nor a Reddit clone. This prevents group mentalities like 100k subreddits, but I am interested at how it deals with users with massive amounts of followers.
The pages describe using an API for cross-device applications. I'm worried that it could fragment the Linux ecosystem as the API-using programs would stay Ubuntu-only.
I missed out on the episode. Do you think that it was as good as you expected? I think that the season could have been better done, not rushed as it seemed.
