Top notch praxis 👌

Well, it's not evil if you're a white nationalist. To every ethnonationalist the expulsion of The Other is the ultimate good. We've seen it in every state where such is the dominant ideology.

Satan isn't evil if you're a Satanist.

This is fucking evil

Yeah. Most of the time when the US does something that appears evil there's at least a rationale (even if an erroneous one) as to why it's for the ultimate good, and so morally ambiguous at worst. There is none here. It is pure, unadulterated evil. I'm sad that America has reached a point where you don't need to be a Soviet propagandist to call it evil.

Interesting technology, sounds like PFC on steroids

Aside: holy hell vox.com's design is obnoxious

I'd say it sounds like a power quality active filter on steroids.

But what if by baking the cake five innocent people are killed? The baker is also an evil demon and the customer is the owner of an arms manufacturing company that sells tanks to child soldiers.

This is one of the reason McD:s have cameras - not just in case of robbery, but also if workers decide to redistribute some of that food

Because he's an antifeminist, and there's nothing sad young men like more than blaming their problems on women

Isn't he one of the guys that lied you into the iraq war? I find this snoop cuddling quite worrying

b_b  ·  625 days ago  ·  link  ·

Yeah that was kind of the point of hiring him. He has the kind of conservative cred that you can only get by advocating for an illegal war and then never getting held to account for it. Initially all the conservatives were lauding the appointment, because they couldn't scream about partisanship. That's what makes it all the more bizarre that they gaslighted the American public into somehow taking seriously claims that he's part of a vast liberal or "deep state" (a pure bullshit conspiracy theorist term) conspiracy.

It's almost as if huge sites where the admins have no connection with their users is a bad thing

I'd rather laws like this don't have to get passed. Unfortunately we can't have nice things

Uuh, making site operators liable for what their users do is actually good. That U.S. admins can throw their hands up in the air when contronted with abusive user behavior is a cancer upon the Web

johnnyFive  ·  644 days ago  ·  link  ·

Well, "abusive behavior" isn't necessarily illegal, so that's the first point.

The second is that this will absolutely wreck free speech online. Sites will have 0 incentive to not be overly aggressive in eliminating anything they think might theoretically piss off the authorities. It's expensive, and will harm smaller communities that don't have the resources to do this effectively. Even YouTube has struggled to address things like jihadi recruitment videos, and that's with the resources of one of the world's largest tech companies.

"Before crime is committed" is a funny way of saying "innocent". Western politicians will no doubt act like they think these are grave injustices, while simultaneously pushing for similar systems in the EU
