Just had a snoop. It does seem like an excellent idea, but on further inspection 90% of contributions go to creators. I don't know if this is an unreasonable view, but if a service is based around tiny donations, should it take 10% of it?
Great design but obviously no contender for the kind of Windows 8 laptops we are seeing now. When Google gets into full swing with the pixel line we will see some great machines.
I read about this in a science magazine a long time ago, and If anyone knows anything about this please respond.
In silence my ears often amplify background noise to be almost shouting volume, resulting in me listening to music instead of reading. I seem to remember it being along the lines of, my brain is so used to content noise, with being in a Big Band and attending a male only school, that if I get worked up my brain jacks up the static in my ear drums to annoy me. If someone speaks to me it sounds as though they are shouting. So, yeah, happy days.
The majority of reddit users aren't into intelligent discussions. Everyone tries to deny it, but its true. I will always go on reddit for images and videos. I don't think Hubski will overtake Reddit in this sense, but I do think that Hubski will have a stronger community and more than reddit discussion wise. There is enough room for two, and I personally see them excisting well together.
thenewgreen, you really need a frequent gaming podcast. Skyrim nerd talk joined with COD talk. The indie game favourite. It would... Just rock.
Couldn't Hubski just get a Vent? That would provide a heck of a lot of material. If used correctly...
Truly great film. Seen it 4+ times, still a total joy. Never thought about the music, so this has added a brand new perspective. Thanks!
I think an Interesting way to present some podcasts would be actual discussions, between users with maybe conflicting views on topics. Like a talk show, featuring different users and thenewgreen as a host!
minimum_wage... Is... Just a.... Guy. Note taken.
Unshared hmmm... I truly don't see why. Hey internet site members! Your site blows! WAH WWAAHH
Don't fall for it guys. If you give him tree fiddy he will come back for more. Darn Loch Nesski !
The future of warfare?
We all know you favourited that video. Don't worry, its okay
I would be suprised if there was a single user who wouldn't donate to the Hubski cause, especially if it was for a badge.
My reason for joining Hubski was elements of Reddit and Twitter. There just seems to be hashtags rather than subreddits and the abiity to follow users. I feel like there definitly needs to be more emphasis on a users profile page. The pop up idea is good, for not dragging you away from a thread, but I don't feel like I have seen anything about a person, only a bio if they have written. Have you ever seen the cloud thingies which convert your Facebook words into proportional bubbles? A proportional representation of shared posts from which hashtags wouldn't go amiss, as I don't really know what I am in for when I
subscribe to somebody. I have only been here a few days so feel free to dismiss this as bullcrap.
EDIT: Phone fingers apologies
I think BBC Focus are looking for writers if that's any help.
Coming to terms with no one caring about all the shit you post on Facebook seems to be virtually impossible for most people. We are the lucky kleinb100.
I made the mistake of letting everyone on Facebook know my reddit credentials, so that everything I posted was blitzed with shit. I have only let 3 people know about Hubski, and they are probably giggling and all my stuff right now.
Now we are on the inside, we can cat spam everyone! Initiate plan r/cats!
One of the most interesting replies on the thread. And imagine trying to figure out how it works using your phone browser! Hopefully me and you both come to terms with it.
After just browsing r/wtf for half an hour, this is so refreshing. Nice one S
Looking forward to the Hubski poll results. Seems to be a lot of Brits! Compared to reddit anyway.
I think you should have the option to collapse comments if you wish, but Im sure that most people wouldn't. But, the minority also matters. And also its a new site function. Pop it in controls budski.
Libaries still have a good 30 years left in my opinion, as long as over 50s read and the majority don't buy ipads.
Saxomophone and Viomolin here. Hope we set up a great music community here.
Makes a change from Reddit. Found more Brits here in a day than reddit in a year.
Cheshire. Its just far enough from Manchester and Birmingham for days out.
I really enjoyed this. If I was good enough go get a badge it'd be on this comment.
If you take away the new, and switch the pot with video games, us two are very similar.
