Luca Brasi.

A punk rock group from Tasmania, Australia. Great tunes, wicked solos, and a fantastic live show.

Absolutely man. I went from playing a lot of very simple pop rock and the like, to playing things like the Pirates of the Carribean theme, which while not terribly difficult, isnt something i ever expected to be part of my musical repetoire.

The Cornetto Trilogy are all fantastic movies. Perfect deconstruction and then glorious reconstructions of tropes left, right, and centre, and they are fantastically well written as well.

I think i will just wait until Samsung releases their take on the Apple Rev B.

It will have better hardware and more flexibility...

Jokes aside, AI Risk does have more serious applications then the Skynet scenario.

Many people are concerned about the economic and ethical considerations behind such technology.

A mate passed my resume along to his work.

I deliver pizzas to pay my way through university.

SirCrankyPants  ·  3189 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What game's lore fascinates you and what about it interests you so much?

I have played Warcraft since it was a generic fantasy RTS.

Medivh is probably one of my favourite characters.

He was decieved by Sargeras and Kiljaedan (i believe this has been retconned into possession) into conspiring with Guldan, an Orcish Warlock, and building the Dark Portal, and creating the modern day World of Warcraft.

SirCrankyPants  ·  3189 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What album has had the most influence in your life?

Blink-182's 'Dude Ranch'.

Before that i was raised on country and classic rock.

But Dude Ranch taught me that music could be fast, and more importantly, it could be fun! Jokes flying left, right, and centre, plenty of teen angst for poor misunderstood me, and catchy hooks that were easy to play, leading me to learn guitar.

'What is Immoral?'

'The fact you have a child'

A burn from an AI. The revolution is now.

The IEEE Spectrum has fantastic articles on technology. Highly recommended.

Edit for more depth:

They have articles on upcoming technologies, robotics, electrical engineering, programming, AI, and so on.

Its an interesting read, and the IEEE also publishes Peer Reviewed content under IEEE Xplore.

I started University recently, and i was really worried about living on campus and getting involved in the social life with people as much as 6 or 7 years younger then me (im 23). I have often struggled with social anxiety.

Its true, noone cares.

I get some gentle ribbing for it, but people are more focused on how you treat people and whether or not you cause drama.

Dont be afraid to get involved or try something new.

Hey there!

Bass guitar and Electric Guitar here!

Been playing on and off for about 7 years now, and i play daily. Feel free to add me to the index!

The biggest problem to me is the inability to utilise other software instead of the proprietry software already installed.

I don't take too much issue with the idea of copyrighting software, but i also dislike the copyright being used in situations like this.

I recently drove from Canberra back to the town i study at through the back roads.

Absolutely stunning scenery, just me and my music.

People gave me shit for joining a brass band and playing bass guitar for them (small town of <2000 people, not a lot of low end players).

It was one of the best things i ever did. Playing music just for the sake of playing music with a good group of people i wouldnt have associated with otherwise.

Paper Towns was a surprisingly deep book, for what i had originally written off as a generic teen novel.

My parents always talk about the time they were travelling along the east coast of australia, reached a motel and reserved a room.

They then went to get a bite to eat, and ended up travelling the Great Ocean Road by night.

I have always loved that idea, and plan on doing something similar once Uni is over.

Redditor of 18 months.

Iv really only stayed on Reddit for the AskReddit sub, and while i will continue to frequent it, Hubski seems like it might be a community i actually want to participate in.

I mostly play guitar in my free time, but also play the occasional video game and play D&D weekly with a good group of people.
