Aside from the letter in this post: http://hubski.com/pub?id=579, I hadn't read any Vonnegut before. I intend Slaughterhouse Five to be my next read, however.

I was struck by how heavy-handed this story was. Is this his typical style? What I mean is: you get the point after a few lines, and then it's like a hammer on a nail. It's good, but it's almost good just because how relentless it is. Feels like he was pissed off after standing in line for four hours at the DMV.
