At the university where I work, professors start on $160k ($190k if medically qualified) but that is assuming full-time. As I work in the medical area where government funding isn't ever really in doubt, most of them here are full-time, or supplement a part-time professor gig with clinical work elsewhere. Comfortably clearing $200k. Humanities though? Funding always in doubt, there are plenty of 0.2FTE professors rocking about trying to make ends meet, despite the lofty title.
