It’s interesting that his death is actually quite benign in its actuality (a medication complication) but mythology is bigger. I wonder how much of his legacy is a PR engine? Most people just die. They get an obit and it highlights the good things and hides the warts but famous people have PR engines that craft their legacy because there are residuals involved.

John Lennon was an asshole. Abandoned his first wife and child and was generally awful to many people. But... that’s all swept under a rug and he’s the embodiment of peace and love. An engine did that.

His music is amazing. No matter how he treated his wife and kid. Bruce Lee was a badass martial artist no matter how he died. But it’s interesting that some people live beyond their death and how they’re remembered is decided in a pitch meeting.

Edit: Also, be careful what you’re putting in to your bodies people! He died from a headache.
