The thing that I'm hopeful about is that is guys like Mattis, Mullen, and others (John Kelley next?) seem to be horrified at the misuse of the military. The only way Trump could hold onto power after losing would be if the military supports him (as in, it would be a coup). If the upper leadership of the military, outside of civilian control, rejects Trump, he's toast. I have a few military buddies who are Trump lovers, but they're all enlisted men. Hopefully the officer corps gets more and more sour on him.
