This decade follows a nice narrative for my CV academia-wise, but my personal life doesn't have much of a resume until the last couple years. That's where I'd like to focus my next decade.

First half of this decade had a lot of firsts.

- First jobs

- First (real) relationship (and some bad ones)

- First notable leadership roles

- First valley in life

- First extended trip outside of the U.S.

Second half of the decade built on most of these:

- First full-time job

- Sparse dating (back loaded in 2018 and 2019)

- Too much therapy (seriously, why)

- Another extended trip outside of U.S.

It's a start. All of it's sandwiched somewhere between academia, so the next decade will be more telling of my bearings in life. 2010s began in high school and ended mid-way through a masters - I definitely wasn't expecting to enter a masters so soon after undergrad.

I'd like a little less of 'working on my self,' and a little more of 'laughing with others.' Or crying, the whole shebang. The themes of my personal life this decade were 'Loneliness and Determination', 'Heartache and Joy', and 'Assurance and Independence'. The past years brought a sharper taste to each of these familiar flavors to the point of novelty.

I had a word doc for my year-in-review, but that's all it really boils down to. A bit of the same through-out the years thus far. Re-coupling and fine tuning some of those pairs is the goal for the next chapter.
