Or just put your new one on a coaster. But as for the point at hand, even though it's Apple, I still couldn't believe you can only use it with Apple Music. It's Siri functionality is flawed at best. It doesn't have any voice recognition for different users so anyone can just say, " Hey Siri. Tell the boss to die in a fire after he's done fucking his own sister." And Siri will dutifully text that.
