My point was not then, and is still not 'Guns = bombs.'

My point is that the problem, as I see it, is not any specific method of inflicting violence upon others. The problem is 'What motivates someone to commit a violent/ mass violent attack?' or 'What circumstances lead to the creation of an individual with violence tendencies/desires?'

Again, from where I sit, as I see this issue, unless we are addressing root causes, and trying to act preventatively against the causes, not the methods, we are not actually solving the problem. We are playing whack-a-mole.

I am purely, 100% interested in motive. It would take some convincing to make me consider 'means' and 'opportunity' as equally, or even near as important as motive. Because if you lack motive, means and opportunity are irrelevant.
