I like this post, but it brings up more questions than answers for me.

One question I have is how do you look for something when you don't know what it is but you think you'll know it when you see it. . .but will you?

Something that I've seen recently is that when people are looking for an answer, they look for it in the place they think they'll find it, even if they've been to that same place a million times before and didn't find it there. It stands to reason that the answer probably isn't in that place, but the thought of the answer existing in any other place seems inconceivable to them because you don't know what you don't know. I think I might be guilty of this. I'm not sure how I would change it.

I also just experienced someone doing this recently. I had a different perspective than this person on how he might find an answer to his question. I probably know more about his issue than he could possibly imagine. He didn't want to hear my perspective because I wasn't one of the places where he thought he'd find the answer. I can only hope that I didn't and don't pass up the chance to hear a possible answer as easily as he did. Then again, if I've been sitting with a problem for a long time, I probably have.
