I've always heard that the Bill Gates Foundation is finishing up a laser armed misquito zapper. Also, wasn't there some scientists who were developing a genetically modified sterile mosquito that's supposed to be more attractive to potential mates than fertile ones? Or we could create a predator whose sole food is the misquito of choice. It could be genetically engineered flesh, all computer, or bionic. May be the AI appocolypse begins with the well-meaning cause of misquito annalilation though.
