We'll only see more of this in the coming years. Dying entities like AOL and Yahoo! are continuously selling off or outsourcing everything they do. And while Microsoft's image has soften since their "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" days, it still uses its IP to attack its competitors and even vendors over supposed linux patents.
