How does this statistic compare to other industrialized countries, I wonder (in terms of % if not in actual figures)? I know that our country is often more violent but I suspect ingrained violent misogyny is quite prevalent in many other Western countries as well, or am I wrong on that count? (Not to discount or take anything away from just how awful some of the statistics are in this country or just how rampant violence against women is but just as a comparison)
