I saw a comment somewhere else that I've been thinking about: Why is Jeb doing this to himself? He can't win. There's no way when the legacy of his brother is still so recent, so potent, and so negative. If he wanted to really do this, the only way he'd have even a slim chance would be to completely distance himself from W and his work, to more or less disown it completely. But he can't and won't do that. It would be traitorous to the party, and on top of that, I don't think he has enough to him to create himself as his own candidate anyway. So no matter what he does, he's tied to W. Completely. It will be central to everything, every question. And there's no way you can win when you have that. And his team has to know this as well. So fucking why?
