Those who choose to spend their lives 'Upholding the law' should be held to higher standards of ethics than the rest of us. No one forces you to become a police officer or FBI agent. I almost think that we need police for the police. I know we have Departments of Internal Affairs, but those officers serving in those departments still respect the fraternity of police.
